Historical Florentine Football
Historical Florentine football is a traditional game from the city of Florence. As a sporting discipline, it is considered by many to be the father of football, even if in its foundation it is quite reminiscent of rugby. The event is held during the Feast of St. John, the Patron Saint of Florence, on June 24th. Every year, teams from the “quartieri” or neighborhoods—Bianchi di Santo Spirito, Rossi di Santa Maria Novella, Verdi di San Giovanni, and Azzurri di Santa Croce—face off in a tournament. If you wish to participate in the event, please contact us.
